BPI Foundation Executive Director Owen Cammayo and Office of Civil Defense Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad meet for the virtual signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the BPI BAYANihan program that aims to support communities affected by disasters.
BPI Foundation, the social development arm of BPI, has officially sealed a partnership with the Office of Civil Defense, the implementing arm of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, to build a more disaster resilient and better Philippines. Through the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the organizations aim to streamline their relief efforts, widen their range of areas, and respond more efficiently to disasters.
The goal is to formalize the sharing of information, coordination, and cooperation in implementing the country's disaster risk reduction and management efforts, including disaster relief or humanitarian assistance, eco-based solutions, access to effective, responsive, and inclusive social protection, and risk financing and insurance mechanism for underserved communities, among many others.
