BPI volunteers attend the virtual orientation for the “BalikaBayanihan” program to prepare for their nearing financial wellness sessions with OFW participants.
BPI Foundation, the social development arm of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), has partnered with the Atikha Overseas Workers and Communities Initiative Inc., a non-government organization that provides economic and social services to OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) and their families, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration - National Reintegration Center For OFWS (OWWA-NRCO), and the National Economic and Development Authority - Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (NEDA-PNVSCA), for their “BalikaBayanihan” program, which aims to empower the modern-day heroes through financial wellness. 38 BPI employees volunteered, both as individuals and in groups, to become mentors to 15 OFWs, some of whom are displaced and returning to the country. The personal online sessions on finance and entrepreneurship will start in March. Weekly online check-ups will also be conducted to ensure that OFWs are on the right path towards their financial freedom.
